Innovative Transfusion Medicine, Inc. (“ITM”) operates blood donation centers and mobile operations in Broward, Miami-Dade and Orange Counties in Florida. Today, ITM collects blood for transfusion and diagnostic use. We are growing at an impressive pace, having supplied 75% of the United States’ COVID Convalescent Plasma under the government funded Barda Program. We are excited to see what is next for ITM. Job Description
Act as the ITM ambassador to recruit and educate potential blood donors at promotional, community, small business blood drives to ensure a drive meets the projection.
Responsibilities
1. Greet potential donors warmly, educate donors on transfusion and diagnostic use of blood and blood derivative products; outline the donation process, describe ITM’s donor rewards program and encourage donation
2. Act in a professional and courteous manner
3. Displays posters/signs in high traffic areas to boost awareness of blood collection and assist in other setup and post event cleanup activities
4. Handout ITM brand and marketing literature to potential donors
5. Check in with donors after donation to obtain feedback on their experience; share with Regional and Account Managers
6. Assist with donor refreshments and/or gifts, as requested
7. Assist in maintaining relationship between blood drive chairpersons and host organizations, checking in throughout the day to ensure they are happy with how the event is unfolding
8. Ensure achievement of blood donation goals at a given event/location by personally interacting with a large numbers of potential donors
9. Be respectful of the host location’s requirements, such as location of the bus or pop-up center, proximity of bus or pop-up to entrance or exist, etc.
10. Drive team performance by delivering donors, identifying workflow challenges and offering solutions

Requirements

The following information is required by the representative for their ability to perform their job duties.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent one-year related experience and/or training.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:
Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.Ability to commute with personal transportation.
2.Need to speak, write, read, and understnd English.
3.Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
4.Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
5.Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
6.Ability to work outdoors 100% of the time with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles.
7.Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students in High Schools or managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Long hours walking and involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects lifting materials of light weight - up to 20 pounds.
