Job Description

Senior Sales Development Representative

Our sales team is looking to hire its first Senior Sales Development Representatives to help us achieve ambitious growth goals. In this role, you will identify new opportunities and build a pipeline for the Head of Sales or Account Executives by managing outbound or inbound prospecting, discovery, and qualifying leads.

You’ll be creatively engaging with potential customers working on data engineering, data science and machine learning within a variety of verticals including geospatial, genomics, and life sciences industries. You will also collaborate with cross-functional peers in Sales, Marketing, and Engineering within TileDB.

We are looking for a flexible team player for our fast-paced startup. Eagerness to learn and the ability to ramp up in complex domains and technical concepts is a must. If you are successful in this role, there will be an opportunity for promotion to an Account Executive position in the future. You will report to the Head of Sales.

The impact you will have:

- Rapidly develop your skill-set around value-based B2B selling, databases, and engineering infrastructure

- Prioritize and qualify high volume inbound leads from marketing programs and promotions

- Create outbound activities primarily through personalized email and LinkedIn messaging for opportunity qualification

- Work collaboratively with demand generation and marketing to develop compelling outreach campaigns for all levels of buyers, including senior technical prospects (principal architects, database engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers) to create opportunity in key target accounts

Nice to have:

- Interest in big data, databases, developer tools, data science, and machine learning

- Interest in geospatial, genomics, or life sciences industries (you will be selling into these spaces initially)

- There is no need to be technical. There is no need to know how to program or have engineering skills. You will simply be communicating TileDB’s value to prospects, and understanding how we can meet their needs and data challenges.


Location

- You will have the flexibility to work remotely as long as your residence is in the USA and you are a US citizen. You can expect your work schedule to skew towards EST. Our headquarters are in Cambridge, MA and we have a subsidiary in Athens, Greece.



Expectations

- In your first 30 days you will familiarize yourself with TileDB’s product, our target market verticals, and our go to market strategy and tactics. You will be privy to various customer calls, and walk through live prospecting and outreach workflows. After 30 days as your understanding of our product and market strategy grows, you will begin to do live prospecting and engagement with our target audiences. You will be mentored by our Head of Sales during this time, with the goal of becoming fully productive by day 90.

Requirements

Requirements:

- Previous selling experience (at least 1-2 years of B2B software preferred)

- Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals and high activity levels

- High energy, driven attitude

- Comfortable and flexible in an evolving, growing start-up work environment

- Experience using a CRM system (Hubspot, Salesforce.com, etc)

- Experience using mass email tools (ie Yesware, Hubspot, Outreach, or any other similar tool)
