Inside Sales Associate (Inside Sales Representative) will drive commercial sales by working directly with prospective and current customers. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Inside Sales. A successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. We will consider a senior level role for those with extensive inside sales experience with instrument and reagent sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
• Triage and provide first line technical support and effective solutions based on customer needs
• Prepare quotations and proposals for customers
• Track and report sales activity, close sales and achieve quarterly quotas with new and existing customers
• Build relationships with customers and prospects, grow existing and new customer accounts
• Coordinate with internal teams to support specific customer requests, applications and sales opportunities.
• Provide customer feedback to sales, marketing, and product management
• Troubleshoot, document, and resolve customer issues
• CRM Management
• All other duties as assigned or necessary

Requirements

• 2-4 years of sales or experience in biotech
• Inside Sales experience with instruments or reagents highly preferred
• Lab experience with cloning and molecular biology techniques, a plus
• CRM system knowledge is a plus
• Dynamics or Salesforce experience is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Thrive in a start-up, rapidly growing company environment
• Excellent verbal and writing skills, great computer skills
• Take initiative and have a growth mindset

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree in biology or life sciences highly preferred
• May consider a combination of other education, a certificate in a related area and/or relevant work experience

Working Conditions:
• This position follows a hybrid work model. Your work schedule will consist of a mixture of onsite (in office) and remote (out of office) workdays. The specific balance of onsite vs. remote work will depend on factors including the nature of your work and the needs of the business at that time, among other considerations. As such, you must be in local proximity to our San Diego, CA location(s) and able to commute to these offices as needed.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• As a critical and essential role, the candidate must be willing and able to travel to the San Diego, CA office to report to work. We have protocols in place to provide a safe, socially distanced work environment.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds required

Base Comp. $70,000.00
Total Comp. $120,000.00
